About

After graduating (with honors) from the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys in 1983, S.V. Stepanov became a post-graduate student at the Institute for Theoretical and Experimental Physics. In 1987 he got Ph.D. His thesis was "Investigation of the spin dynamics of beta-active nuclei". From 1986 to 2008, he worked at the Laboratory of Neutron Physics at ITEP. In 2005 he got habilitated doctoral degree. His dissertation was "Positrons in Molecular Media: Theoretical Foundations of Positron Spectroscopy". In 2017 S.V. Stepanov became a head the Laboratory of physical chemistry at ITEP (NRC "Kurchatov Institute"). Scientific field of research of the laboratory is the positron annihilation spectroscopy, material science, radiation physics and chemistry.
